The Problem

A customer who is from Philippines came to us with a standing seam roof that wasn’t flat—not even.

Standard aluminum clamps couldn’t handle the height variations. On top of that, the client didn’t want penetrations through the roof membrane—no drilling.And they wanted to keep costs down, which meant no rails.
A common mounting solution was not suitable for this application, so our engineering team developed a customized approach.
We said: let’s make the new mold.
What We Did
We designed a height-adjustable aluminum clamp—the only one in our lineup that does this. 
No need rails? No problem—It’s a rail-less solution that the clamps can be combine the solar panels directly to the roof and let installers easily adjust the height on the spot.

No problem—each clamp is made from AL 6005-T5 aluminum with anodized finish (10μm minimum). Salt spray tested beyond 1,000 hours. Stainless steel fasteners throughout. No corrosion worries in coastal environments, no thermal expansion mismatches between dissimilar metals.

Why This Matters for Extreme Weather
Each clamp can be set to the exact height needed to keep the entire array coplanar. No racking, no twisting, no uneven load paths. The wind load gets distributed the way it should be—evenly across every panel and every clamp.
The No-Rail Advantage
Rails add cost, weight, and complexity. They also create additional wind-catching surface area and potential failure points (more connections = more things that can come loose). By going rail-less, we cut the bill of materials significantly—which was exactly what this customer needed.
But going rail-less doesn't mean going light on strength. The clamp itself becomes the primary structural connection, transferring loads directly from the panel frame to the roof structure. That means the clamp has to be engineered for both vertical load (panel weight + snow) and lateral/uplift loads (wind). Our 6005-T5 aluminum, with its high strength-to-weight ratio, handles both without the bulk of steel.
